Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Kona or Hilo: We’ve got you covered
If you’ve done your research on Hawaii, you’ve likely discovered that each of the islands has its own distinct character. You’ll also find incredible diversity within each island, so the neighborhood you choose to call home will add another layer of character. Are you excited to move to a high rise in Waikiki so you can be right in the middle of busy Honolulu? Or would you prefer a quiet home on the North Shore of Oahu? Is peaceful Waimea the place for you on the Big Island, or would you prefer to be near the heart of Hilo?Read More
No matter which island you choose—and which area you decide to make your home—we can get you there. The local experts at our DeWitt sister company, Royal Hawaiian Movers, has been moving people in and around the islands for over three decades. We’ve transported our customers’ precious possessions up steep mountain roads, down narrow driveways, up and down stairs—just about everywhere you can imagine. Take a deeper dive into your chosen island and discover more about:
Packing up your entire house into a full container? We can help you with that. We’ve handled everything from studio apartments to multi-story houses. We can even ship sensitive equipment, artwork and anything else that requires special handling.
Don’t think you need a full container? We can arrange for a consolidated shipment, which is one of the most economical ways to move your items to Hawaii. In a consolidated shipment, your items will go into a wooden crate called a lift van, which is packed in a container that’s shipped to your island of choice. We’re one of the only companies that sends shipments to all four islands twice a week, so we can likely get you there faster than many other carriers.Read More
Want us to pack everything for you? We’d be happy to help. When you choose one of our full-service options, we’ll send a professional crew to your house with all the materials they need to pack your possessions safely and securely for their voyage. We’ll help you unpack everything at your new home, and we can even help with furniture disassembly and reassembly. If you’re short on time—or just want someone to handle all of the logistics—this is the option for you.
We know your move to Hawaii is uniquely your own, so we’ll start with a free, in-person survey of the items you want to ship. From there, we’ll put together a custom plan, tailored to your needs and budget.

What to expect when moving to Hawaii
Moving to Hawaii is something many people will only dream of. You’re about to make it happen, and we’d love to help you make a smooth transition to your new home. In partnership with our colleagues at Royal Hawaiian Movers, we’ve put together a few tips so you’ll understand what to expect when making the Hawaiian islands your home.
The simple life: You’ll find all kinds of people across all of the Hawaiian islands, but if we had to pick out a theme, it’s that many people here live a simpler, more laid back lifestyle. Formal, close-toed shoes often lose out to slippers (that’s “flip flops” to mainlanders). Elaborate dinners are replaced by fresh, local produce prepared simply and deliciously. Barbecues and potlucks are more common than cocktail parties. The lifestyle you establish in Hawaii will be uniquely your own, but if you feel compelled to strip your possessions down to the essentials and keep your life simple, you’ll fit right in. (Of course, we’re also happy to help you move an entire houseload to Hawaii!)
Local culture: You’ll discover that Hawaii is an incredibly diverse place with influences from Japan, China, the Philippines, Portugal, Europe, the islands of the South Pacific, the United States and beyond. In fact, Hawaii was crowned the most ethnically and racially diverse state in the U.S. in a recent study.i Among many of the benefits that come with this diversity include meals you won’t find anywhere else. If you’re willing to try new tastes—like saimin, manapua and malasadas—as well as local favorites like poke, poi and haupia, you’ll discover a whole new side of the islands to embrace.Read More
Moving pets: Your dogs and cats are welcome in Hawaii, as long as you follow the state’s requirements. Our colleagues at Royal Hawaiian movers have written a comprehensive article on moving your pets to Hawaii, which will answer most of your questions. We’re happy to answer any others you have!
Embracing the island: Finally, you’ll discover that things work a little differently in Hawaii than the mainland. The more you can accept the local way of doing things, the quicker you’ll acclimatize to your new home. You’ll discover the hours and days to avoid the DMV. You’ll try a hole-in-the-wall restaurant that doesn’t look like much—one you’d probably avoid on the mainland—but one that’s rumored to turn out some of the tastiest food on island. You’ll lay off the horn when driving and stop frequently for pedestrians. When you can embrace the particular ways of your island—they’re different from the Big Island to Maui to Oahu to Kauai—you’ll quickly discover that warm feeling of truly belonging.
