For 16 years the Boys and Girls Club has been making the holidays brighter for youth in San Diego. Each year families of children who are eligible for a Boys and Girls Club (BGC) scholarship and demonstrate a financial need are selected for the adopt a family program. BGC staff transform each site into a winter wonderland for families to enjoy, complete with treats, games and a visit from Santa who brings a gift for every child.

This year DeWitt Move Worldwide had the privilege of adopting a family and participating in the BGC Holiday Party.

1. The Wish Tree

Here at our San Diego offices adopting a family began with a wish tree filled with holiday wishes from our adopted family of four.

DeWitt Employees Pitch In

In hardly any time at all the wish tags were gone and presents were stacked around the tree.

A Holiday Party

On Thursday, December 14, 2017, gifts from around the wish tree made the journey from the DeWitt offices to the Greater San Diego Boys and Girls Club site nearby. The event was a complete success and BGC exceeded their gift collection goal by 500 gifts. More than 100 children ages 5 to 15 attended and enjoyed the party.  The children were truly thankful for the generosity and the entire event was very moving. Thanks to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater San Diego for the great honor of participating in this event. Special thanks to Jeff Nadeau – for presenting this wonderful opportunity – and Susan Bandrup, Sindi Ramos, and Joyce Twardy for their driving force in making it happen.
