March 20, 2020

On March 19, 2020, the Governor of California announced a new phase of containment to combat the spread of COVID-19. The “Safer at Home” emergency order calls for “all residents to stay inside their residences and immediately limit all outside movement.” This order will have an impact on many industries, but what does it mean for your supply chain?

As transportation and logistics companies,  The DeWitt Companies are considered essential, and our operations will be 100% functional during the stay at home mandate.

Read more about the order at the links below

Earlier this week, in an effort to help stop the spread of the virus, The DeWitt Companies designated all non-operations staff to a “work from home” status. Therefore, we are already prepared for this new set of rules. We are still busy at work ensuring our clients’ supply chains remain efficient.

To Our Partners,

Following the unprecedented developments around COVID-19 (coronavirus), DeWitt Companies is committed to supporting the moving, freight, transportation services, records management and certified document destruction for businesses, individuals, and government agencies.

During this emergency, we remain committed to fulfilling our responsibilities to our clients, and for the safety and welfare of our employees, their families and you, our customers.

We are very much open for business and will continue to serve and support you.

In line with Social Distancing guidelines, we are instructing our employees to work from home where possible and to only come into the office if necessary. For job functions that qualify to work remotely, our staff will be set up to respond to their normal company email accounts, access our internal systems, and receive calls to their normal extensions. While we transition to this plan, we anticipate we may experience some delay in our responses. If this occurs, please direct a follow-up email to [email protected], and we will route the request accordingly.

For many of our employees, working remotely is not an option, as their job duties are hands-on and are performed in our warehouses and out in the field.    In these instances, we have instructed the staff to take extra precautions when interacting with you, for everyone’s safety.   There may be instances where we feel it may be unsafe to proceed with services and will work with you to find a solution on a case-by-case basis

This is an unprecedented situation for all of us, and we value your understanding and partnership.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to your regular points of contact at DeWitt Companies, if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

John Burrows
